As Russia launches its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, primary schools across Russia’s hinterlands are transformed into recruitment stages for the war. Facing the ethical dilemma of working in a system defined by propaganda and violence, a brave teacher goes undercover to film what’s really happening in his own school.
In his hometown in the Ural Mountains, fun-loving Pasha works as a nonconformist teacher at the same primary school he attended as a child. However, Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine changed everything. Suddenly the school and community he loved transformed from a place of education and self-expression to one of militarization and state ideology. Soon, his own students and their family members are recruited to fight, and Pasha must ask himself what one person can do. Filmed secretly over two years, Mr. Nobody Against Putin is an unforgettable portrait of life in Russia today and the impossible choices citizens face when the country they love is in the hands of a ruler who demands it become something they cannot accept.

这是一个相对少见的俄罗斯人视角下的叙事。它以一个非常生活化的角度切入，来记录一个社会是如何迅速堕入军事化的泥沼的，以及那些即将远赴邻国成为侵略者的年轻人原本都是一群怎样的普通人。而且很令人感慨的是，作为一个旁观者，你或许会很容易发现“爱国主义”与“军国主义”、“教育”与“洗脑”之间，有时只有一线之隔。但当你身为当事人时，这个区分往往就不那么简单了。“爱国意味着承认说‘我们存在问题’。”可问题就在于，这样的爱国者在哪个国家都不总是受到欢迎的。而在有些国家基本就是不可能了。
全片都蔓延着一种离奇却熟悉的反乌托邦感，前一秒还觉得像是小说情节，下一秒却想起自己小时候也经历过类似的场景。这个片子对中国观众来讲还是过于贴近现实了。在黑暗的影院里，被一群白人老头老太围着，她们看到的是荒诞，我看到的是童年。
